Episode 1 features the Susan Hamilton case - next broadcast date is Saturday 3rd April 2010 at 7pm (8pm on Crime+1).

We reveal for the first time the actual story of what happened to Susan when she was convicted of poisoning a child with salt. Due to reporting bans, this story has not been fully revealed before, until now. Susan talks directly to the camera about the time she spent in prison and how this affected her family and, ultimately, her sanity. Still waiting for an appeal, Susan’s story depicts the worst possible scenario any family should have to face.

Episode 2 features the Steven Johnston case (broadcast has now been postponed due to the impending trial of the policeman associated with the case)

Steven’s case shows how police corruption can lead to an innocent man spending ten years in prison for a murder he clearly couldn’t have committed. The victim had been seen alive and well, by 12 separate witnesses, for six days after the date of his supposed murder. This documentary shows how the police held back information which could have easily proved his innocence.

Episode 3 features the Susan May case - next broadcast date is Saturday 27th March 2010 at 7pm (8pm on Crime+1).

Susan spent twelve years inside some of the harshest and most unforgiving prisons in England, convicted of murdering her aunt in 1992. She was never cleared of her crimes and remains a murderer in the eyes of the law, but the question remains as to why she was convicted in the first place. Susan May was convicted because she was unbelievably naïve, pure and simple. She trusted the police to do the right thing. She hired her family solicitor to represent her even though he had never before handled a murder case and had no experience of criminal law. She simply relied on the fact that she knew she was completely innocent of all charges and hoped that a jury would see this, offering herself up as a lamb to the slaughter in the process.
